Growth or a leadership handover in a mid-sized company

The pilot

In the pilot we support a few companies in person. Each covers one site or one unit with 50 to 300 employees, about six weeks from the first document to the joint review.

How the pilot runs

  1. Week 1

    Set the standard

We read the mission statement, the values page and the leadership principles and record each statement on its own. The management approves what counts as the standard, and decides how much room for decisions and how much customer contact each role should have.

  2. Week 2

    Approval and launch

Whoever approves surveys in the company receives every question word for word and the framework for the follow-up questions. If there is a works council, that is the works council; otherwise the management decides who approves. Then the link goes out to the workforce on a poster and by message.

  3. Weeks 3 and 4

    Fieldwork

About 19 minutes per person, on their own phone, without a login. Every group large enough to stay anonymous is evaluated.

  4. Weeks 5 and 6

    Report and joint review

The report is published at its own address. In a joint session with the management we agree next steps that can be checked: what to watch, by when, and how a change would show.

What you bring

  • the documents that set out the standard

  • one contact person in the management

  • approval of the survey, by the works council, the management or data protection, depending on the company

  • a way to send the link to everyone, including shifts and the warehouse

What you have afterwards

A report whose findings are ordered by size, each with its figures beneath it, and a list of next steps that came out of the joint review.

In the pilot, an experienced organisational diagnostician also evaluates the same answers independently. In the final meeting we compare both evaluations: where they agree, where they differ, and why.

The pilot was worth it if the management can say afterwards: now we understand a specific problem better, one our previous survey could not explain.

Three perspectives in the company

Who takes part in the pilot, and what they see first

01 · Decision

Management

Approves the statements from the mission statement and the leadership principles in week 1, sets the expected room for decisions per role, and decides on next steps that can be checked in the joint review in week 6.

02 · Review and approval

Works council and data protection

Depending on the company, the works council, the staff council, the management or the data protection officer approves the survey. Before the start, that body receives every question word for word, the framework of the follow-ups, the protection floor of 5 people per group and the checksum of the version.

03 · Running it

Project lead and HR

Defines the evaluation groups with us and shares the invitation link on posters and by message. Neither an IT integration nor company mailboxes for shifts and the warehouse are needed.

What the firstconversation settles

  1. 01

Which documents set the standard. Mission statement, values page, brand book, leadership principles, code of conduct: which of them exist, how current they are and who approves them. We record each statement in these texts on its own, and the answers are later compared with them.

  2. 02

Who is asked, and in which groups. Area, managing staff or not, and length of service are the cuts the evaluation uses. Before the start it has to be clear which groups exist and which have at least 5 people, so that they can be evaluated separately.

  3. 03

Who approves the survey. That can be the works council, the staff council, the management or the data protection officer. Before the first person answers, that body receives every fixed question word for word and the framework within which follow-up questions may arise. Who that is and when it happens, we settle right at the start.

  4. 04

What you have at the end. A report at an address you can pass on, with findings ordered by weight, each with its figures beneath it. The sample report shows what it looks like.

What you do not need

  • No presentation and no description of your own culture. The survey shows what it looks like day to day.

  • No ready-made documents for the approval and no works agreement. The product generates the documents from the question catalogue itself.

  • No IT integration. The survey runs in the browser on each person’s own phone, without signing in and without matching against your staff directory.

Contact for pilot projects

In the first conversation we check whether the occasion, the group sizes and the documents you have fit the pilot. If you wish, you receive the approval document for whoever approves the survey straight afterwards.

Every pilot is supported in person. Besides the report, it includes an independent second evaluation of the same answers by an experienced organisational diagnostician.
